Nestled in the hills of Turkeyfoot Valley lies the Sechler Sugar Shack.
A fourth generation of maple producers continues the tradition of making
maple products.
The old
sugar camp pictured here was replaced in 1983 with the modern facility.
The current owner, Everett, is seen here at age 5, with his father,
Earle, on the back of a truck that was used to gather the sap.
The old techniques are continually being updated with the most modern
technology to produce the distinctive flavors of Somerset County Maple
Syrup.
Everett, his wife Christine, and sons Joel and Joshua continue the
sweetest family tradition.
